For aspiring drivers stuck at home during the province’s second lockdown, the Organization for Literacy in Lambton is holding a free online program that may be right up their alley.
Since 2018, the local non-profit organization has hosted an in-person program at their Lochiel Kiwanis Community Centre headquarters called Shift Into Drive.

While the program does not replace formal Ministry of Transportation driver’s education training or schools – learners do not go out in the community with instructors in vehicles to practice their driving skills – it is a program that assists learners to work through the G1 driver test manual and helps prepare them to write the exam. ....

Members of the Golden K Kiwanis Club gave the Organization of Literacy in Lambton an early holiday boost on Nov. 24, continuing their enduring relationship by giving the non-for-profit a $3,500 donation to help support their Train the Brain program.
The money donated to the OLL was raised by Kiwanians volunteering through the Jackpot City Sarnia Bingo program, which is run through the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association and allows a portion of the money raised at Jackpot City to be donated to charities and non-profits that volunteer at the facility. ....
