An elderly man has died in hospital following a single-vehicle crash at Armidale.
A Honda CRV was travelling east on Mann Street when the driver lost control just before 10pm on Tuesday.
The car left the road before it collided with a tree and overturned.
Residents responded along with emergency services, who removed the 81-year-old man from the vehicle and started performing CPR.
He was taken to Armidale Rural Referral Hospital, where he died shortly after.
A crime scene was established, and detectives from New England Police District commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the coroner. ....
