The U.S. Navy awarded Textron Systems $13 million to exercise an option for an additional low rate initial production (LRIP) unit for the Unmanned Influence Sweep System (UISS) unmanned surface vehicle (USV) program.
UISS is based on Textron’s Common Unmanned Surface Vehicle (CUSV), a multi-mission surface vehicle designed to operate as a mine countermeasure (MCM), intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) platform among others.

The system is designed to operate as part of the littoral combat ship (LCS) MCM package. It consists of a mine countermeasure USV and a towed minesweeping package that can detect magnetic, acoustic and combination mines. Although being designed for the LCS the systems can operate from other vessels or be launched from the shore. ....

Unmanned Influence Sweep System (UISS)
The U.S. Navy has awarded Textron Systems $34.4 million to support for the Unmanned Influence Sweep System (UISS) Unmanned Surface Vehicle program.
Designed for the littoral combat ship (LCS) as part of the mine countermeasures mission package, the UISS consists of a mine countermeasures unmanned surface vehicle (USV) and a towed minesweeping payload for influence sweeping of magnetic, acoustic and magnetic/acoustic combination mine types. UISS can also be launched from vessels of opportunity or from shore.
Work for this contract is expected to be completed by March 2022. ....

Textron to continue LCS minesweeping support - Unmanned Vehicles

USN contract modification covers engineering and technical support for the Unmanned Influence Sweep System.
Textron Systems is to provide additional engineering and technical support for an unmanned mine countermeasures (MCM) component of the USN Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) programme, the DoD announced on 23 February.
Textron will support the Unmanned Influence Sweep System (UISS) USV and towed sensor payload, under a $34.38 million contract modification from Naval Sea Systems Command.
The company will complete work under the contract modification by March 2022.
UISS forms part of the LCS Mine Countermeasures Mission Package (MCM MP), which uses a system-of-systems approach to target specific portions of the water column and segments of the MCM detect-to-engage sequence. ....
