North Grenville mayor Nancy Peckford says she expects charges will be laid after a mostly maskless group gathered on the patio of a Kemptville eatery Thursday for an event originally billed as a “mask burning party.”
On Wednesday, a group called No More Lockdowns Canada announced that it would hold the event at the South Branch Bistro.
“Just like in Leamington, let’s show our support and be there to discourage the ticketing of this courageous business and remind Ford Nation that we reject his lockdowns,” said the group’s website on Wednesday. ....

Friday morning dawned at -20 C with a wind chill of -29 and there are a few more cold nights in store before temperatures turn milder.
Expect mixed skies with a high of -11 C Friday and a northwest wind at 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light in the afternoon, according to the Environment and Climate Change Canada forecast. The wind chill is -26 in the morning and -16 in the afternoon. ....
