HANOVER TWP. An area man was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was driving went of the right side of state Route 3 near Ashland County Road 3275 and struck a guardrail on Wednesday morning, according to a news release from the State Highway Patrol.
According to the release, Jim R. Hawk, 53, of Mansfield, was life-flighted via helicopter to Akron General Hospital after overturning and being ejected from his 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700 a little after 5 a.m.

Hawk was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, the release said. ....
