Federal government funding to the tune of almost $1 million for Australia’s peak wine association will help wine producers tap into markets outside of China but more needs to be done to drive consumer demand, a South Australian wine producer says.
Richard Dolan, co-owner of Bec Hardy Wines, says no amount of funding for industry diversification to other markets will make up for the loss in the China market since trade disputes last year.

The federal government announced it will give Australian Grape & Wine a $998,000 grant to explore new international marketing options for locally produced premium wines, with marketing pilots set to launch in Japan and South Korea. ....

Businesses across the State are being encouraged to enter the annual Western Australian Export Awards.
The awards recognise businesses for the significant contribution they make to both the State and national economies.
Launched in 1988, the awards’ past winners have come from a range of sectors, including education, information technology, mining and agriculture.
Western Australian businesses can enter 13 different award categories, including Agribusiness, Food and Beverages; Advanced Technologies; International Education and Training; Minerals, Energy and Related Services; Manufacturing and Advanced Materials; Regional Exporter; and Small Business. ....

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has officially opened the new Asia Pacific headquarters of Olympic venue design firm Populous in Brisbane.
Ms Palaszczuk joined local staff and clients as well as offshore team members for a ceremony in the Populous Adelaide Street offices.
“This internationally renowned architectural firm which has designed Olympic and other outstanding facilities around the world, as well as some of our favourite local venues, makes Brisbane their main office in the Asia Pacific,” the Premier said. ....
