Australia's overseas arrivals must now declare vaccine status – Travel Weekly

People travelling to Australia will now need to declare their vaccination status, bringing us one step closer to a resumption in international travel.
As of 16 July, the Australian Travel Declaration (ATD), which must be filled out 72 hours prior to entering Australia, now asks overseas arrivals if they have received a COVID-19 vaccine and whether they have ever been diagnosed with COVID-19.
Announcing the changes earlier this month, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the information would help state governments manage quarantine operations for vaccinated and non-vaccinated travellers.
“Obviously, those who are vaccinated have a much lower risk of infection than those who are not vaccinated.” ....

1.10pm: More close contacts of Covid-positive airport worker discovered
The number of close contacts of a border worker who tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday has now increased to 31.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health said this is because the person worked three shifts during their infectious period alongside “a number of colleagues”. Public health officials have now identified 22 colleagues as close contacts, up from 17 yesterday.
Of the 31 close contacts, 14 have returned negative test results to date – meaning an additional 17 are yet to test negative. ....

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told Breakfast she was looking forward to seeing family and friends reunited as the trans-Tasman bubble opens today.
Today 2000 New Zealanders would head off shore and 3000 would arrive in the country.
That s really positive for us as we really want the inward flow to stimulate the economy. ....
