Rare Holden racer set to fetch record price at online auction

It is the second of 302 rare limited edition model built by Holden and it is set to break all records when it goes auction on Saturday.
The car, a Holden HSV VN SS Group A with 36.000km on the clock is a highly sought-after car. It represents the last of the Group A series.
Under Group A rules required a manufacturer to to build 500 vehicles of a specific make. In the case of VN SS Group A, only 302 units were made and the Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS) granted an exemption to the carmaker allowing the cars to compete in the 1991 and 1992 Group A championships. ....

The AMC will represent more than 335,000 participants, 1000 affiliated clubs, 460 licensed racetracks and 18,000 trained officials across the country.
The four groups responsible for the umbrella group are Motorsport Australia, Motorcycling Australia, Karting Australia and the Australian National Drag Racing Association.
The only notable absentee is speedway racing, but its operation is controlled by a number of category-specific groups.
