Pelikan sells Germany logistics centre for RM399.33m, plans special cash distribution

KUALA LUMPUR (July 8): Stationery maker Pelikan International Corp Bhd has disposed of its logistics centre in Germany for a cash consideration of €81 million (equivalent to RM399.33 million).
The group also said part of the disposal proceeds will be used to reward the shareholders through special cash distribution.
Pelikan said in a bourse filing today, its subsidiary Pelikan Group GmbH (PGG) had entered into a conditional sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with HE4 Falkensee 1 S.à r.l. and HE4 Falkensee 2 S.à r.l. to dispose of its logistics centre located at Straße der Einheit, Falkensee, Germany.
Based on Pelikan’s audited consolidated financial statements for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2020 (FY20), the disposal is expected to realise an estimated one-off gain of RM184.83 million. ....

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 PLS Plantations Bhd (PLS), a 73.08 per cent owned subsidiary of Ekovest Bhd (Ekovest) said former CIMB chief executive officer and chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazir Abdul Razak will assume the role of non-executive independent chairman effective February 10, 2021.
Another former CIMB senior ex-banker, Tan Hong Kheng is also set to join as an independent non-executive director on the same date. ....

Nazir Razak is now the non-executive chairman of PLS Plantations

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 8): Datuk Sri Nazir Razak has been appointed as the non-executive independent chairman of PLS Plantations Bhd with effect from Feb 10.
Nazir will assume the post from the group s current chairman, Tan Sri Datuk Lim Kang Hoo, who will be redesignated as executive vice chairman of PLS.
Lim is also the group executive chairman of Ekovest, which owns a 73.08% stake in PLS.
Joining Nazir on the board is another former CIMB senior ex-banker, Tan Hong Kheng, who will join as an independent non-executive director on the same date.
Nazir joins the board after the durian planter placed out 19 million new shares to him in a private placement exercise last month. The new shares were issued at 95 sen each. ....

PLS Plantations to place out 19m new shares to Nazir Razak

It said on Friday the 19 million new shares represented about 5.23% and 3.61% of the issued shares under the minimum scenario of 363.20 million shares and maximum scenario of 526.05 million shares. The total cash consideration for the 19 million new shares will be RM18.05mil.
PLS said Nazir is the chairman and founding partner of Ikhlas Capital Singapore Pte Ltd, a private equity firm based in Singapore and has a presence in Malaysia, Jakarta and Manila.
PLS had also proposed to place up to 33.60 million new shares, or up to 6.39% of the issued shares to third party investors at a later date and at an issue price to be determined. ....

Nazir Razak investing in durian planter via private share placement

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 22): PLS Plantations Bhd has proposed to place out 19 million new shares in the durian planter to CIMB Group Holdings Bhd ex-chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Razak at 95 sen each under a private placement of up to 10% of the total number of issued shares in the company to improve its public shareholding spread and raise money to finance the expansion of its existing business.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, PLS said the private placement, which includes share placements to other independent third party investors, will also enable the company to raise funds to partially repay the group’s bank borrowings which stood at approximately RM121.48 million as at Dec 31, 2020. ....
