Dairygold rolls out pink bales for Irish Cancer Society

Since the partnership began in 2015, Dairygold has raised over €100,000 from Wrap It Pink .
Dairygold has partnered up with the Irish Cancer Society as a ‘Pink Partner’ to encourage women all over rural Ireland to check themselves for early signs of breast cancer.
Early detection is key and provides the best chance of effective treatment for the illness.
Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in Ireland, with an estimated 3,700 people diagnosed with the disease each year.
Dairygold’s farmer members and farmers across Ireland are being encouraged to use the pink bale wrap across the summer in an effort to draw attention to the campaign. ....

Limerick TD takes jab at Dairygold over vaccine memo

DAIRYGOLD has revised its vaccine policy after concerns were raised by Minister Niall Collins.
The TD received a number of calls from angry Co-Op Superstores staff in Limerick regarding a memo circulated internally.
The document titled “Dairygold Co-Coperative Society – Covid-19 Vaccination” sets out the position of the society in relation to vaccinations against Covid-19.
It goes on to say, “The company believes that receiving one of the recommended public health vaccines is the best possible way in which employees can carry out their duty to protect others”.
The part that got staff’ backs up is: “Employees should attempt to secure a vaccine appointment outside of their normal working hours, or as close to the start or the end of the working day as possible.” ....

Dairygold CEO to step down from role later this year

After working in the business for over 42-years of which he has served 12 as chief executive, Jim Woulfe, CEO, Dairygold Co-operative Society Limited has announced his upcoming retirement.
Dairygold will now begin the process to recruit a successor and Jim will step down from the CEO role at year end when a successor has been appointed.
A native of Ardagh, Co Limerick, Mr Woulfe (60) graduated in Dairy Science from University College Cork and joined Ballyclough Co-op in Mallow in 1979, serving in diverse management roles before the neighbouring Mitchelstown and Ballyclough Co-ops merged in 1990 to establish Dairygold. He held a number of senior management roles in Dairygold, including Milk Supplies, Head of Human Resources and Head of Agri-Business, prior to being appointed Dairygold’s CEO in July 2009. ....
