Shikrapur police managed to nab the accused within an hour of the crime, especially since he went a little way ahead and passed out on the road.
Reportedly, the deceased, Navnath Chaudhury (35), and the accused, Harish Kale (30), were drinking liquor together at the time, when a dispute broke out over Chaudhury allegedly flirting with Kale’s wife. Things got heated and Kale killed Chaudhury’s with a stone to his head, then fled. ....

To check increasing crimes against children, a top panel has recommended to the Union government that the age limit under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act be reduced from 18 to 16 years.
According to the data furnished by the committee, cases registered under POCSO rose from 32,608 in 2017 to 47,325 in 2019, which is an increase of nearly 45% in just a span of two years. ....

Mumbai: A stranger or acquaintance to a husband, who is not a relative by blood, marriage or adoption cannot be named as an accused under section 498 A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) that deals with domestic violence, ruled the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court on Tuesday. The HC accordingly quashed FIR filed against the middleman, who introduced the families of the husband and wife for their marriage.
A bench of Justices Vishwas Jadhav and Mukund Sewlikar also noted that there is a trend going on in matrimonial disputes wherein the wife usually ropes in all the near and dear ones of the husband. ....
