Rahul Gandhi’s remarks come after reports that China has refused to pull back its troops from Hot Springs, Gogra and Depsang in eastern Ladakh.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on April 19 accused the government of jeopardising India’s national security, and termed its talks with China as “wasteful”.
“Chinese occupation of Gogra-Hot Springs and Depsang plains is a direct threat to India’s strategic interests including the DBO airstrip,” he said on Twitter “National security massively jeopardised by GOI’s wasteful talks. Our nation deserves better,” he said.
His remarks come after reports that China has refused to pull back its troops from Hot Springs, Gogra and Depsang in eastern Ladakh. ....

New Delhi, Mar 06: India has said that there shall be no de-escalation of forces in Eastern Ladakh until there was disengagement in all friction areas. The comments by the MEA came in the wake of talks between India and China stalling.
It is our expectation that the Chinese side will work with us, both through the WMCC and senior commanders meetings, to ensure that disengagement in the remaining areas is completed at the earliest, spokesperson MEA, Anurag Srivastava said.
This would allow both sides to consider de-escalation of forces in Eastern Ladakh as that alone will lead to restoration of peace and tranquility, he added. ....

Talks with China to continue on standoff despite little change on ground, the External Affairs Minister said.
=External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has said the Indian economy is poised to grow by about 11% despite the COVID-19 crisis.
“It is not only the pent-up demand that is set to rebound but there is also the prospect of new growth in the post-COVID era as per the Reserve Bank of India’s monetary policy for FY 2021-22,” Mr. Jaishankar told the media at the BJP State office here on Saturday. ....
