The #GirlsRunTT Challenge event by the Ministry of Sport and Community Development will pay tribute to the late Lynette “Granny” Luces, one of TT’s most beloved road runnners. -
THE #GirlsRunTT Challenge is a virtual race aimed at challenging women of various fitness levels to participate in 5K, 10K and half-marathon races.
The event is a feature of the Ministry of Sport and Community Development’s recently-restructured Pink Reign Campaign which seeks to encourage more women and girls to be physically active and increase their participation in sport.
In recognition of International Women’s Day 2021 (#IWD2021), the ministry will enroll and sponsor 120 women and girls to participate in a number of virtual road races covering 70 miles between March and August, said a media release from the ministry. ....

: The #GirlsRunTT Challenge is a key feature of the Ministry’s recently restructured Pink Reign Campaign which seeks to encourage more women and girls to be physically active and increase their involvement and participation in sport. In recognition of International Women’s Day 2021 (#IWD2021), the Ministry of Sport and Community Development (MSCD) will enroll and sponsor 120 women and girls to participate in a number of virtual road races covering 70 miles between the months of March and August 2021.
The MSCD is working with BafaSports Limited on this #GirlsRunTT initiative which takes its pattern from the BafaSports’ Magnificent 70 mile Challenge. This Challenge takes participants on a virtual journey celebrating the seven historic buildings located around the Queen’s Park Savannah in Trinidad and Tobago. The virtual race is intended to challenge women of various fitness levels to participate in 5k, 10k, half marathon and other races ....

MINISTER of Sport and Community Development Shamfa Cudjoe handed over $10,000 worth of boxing equipment and gear to head coach of the Wallerfield Warriors Boxing Gym Waldron Brooks at a presentation ceremony, hosted by the Trinidad Boxing Board of Control (TBBC) at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, on December 3.
The Wallerfield Warriors Boxing Gym was the 11th gym to receive boxing equipment. ....
