National Stock Exchange of India, Multi Commodity Exchange, BSE subsidiary India INX International Exchange, National Securities Depository and Central Depository Services have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for setting up Market Infrastructure Institutions comprising International Bullion Exchange, Clearing Corporation and Depository at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT).
This move is in line with the government’s objective to make India a price-setter in bullion trade through GIFT International Finance Service Centre.
This is in accordance with the International Financial Services Centres Authority (Bullion Exchange) Regulations, 2020 and other applicable Laws.
Last October, the Centre had notified a Bullion Spot contract and Bullion Depository receipt under the IFSCA Act, 2019. Though NSE, MCX and BSE had expressed interest to set up a bullion exchange separately, the newly appointed regulator the International Financial ....

The changes made in the Budget to taxation of foreign investors operating in the GIFT International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) along with the recent move by the RBI to allow domestic investors to invest there, show that the Centre and the central bank are acting in tandem to make the Indian IFSC an active offshore investment hub. This is welcome; not only does a vibrant IFSC aid domestic companies raise funds from overseas investors and help the Centre garner additional revenue over the long term, it helps shift the offshore trading of rupee to India, giving authorities greater control over rupee movement. The tax incentives already given to entities operating from here, and the establishment of an international dispute resolution mechanism and the IFSC Authority have ensured that GIFT IFSC can compete with other offshore business centres in operating ....

IRFC notes: IRFC lists $750-mn medium-term note on India INX

NEW DELHI: Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) has listed $750 million medium-term note on BSE-owned India International Exchange s debt listing platform, the bourse said on Friday.
The issue is part of IRFC s $4-billion global medium-term note programme, the exchange said in a statement.
The issue, at a coupon of 2.8 per cent per annum, was over-subscribed by more than 4 times.
IRFC raised $750 million in 10-year money under its $4-billion global medium-term note programme established on the Global Securities Market (GSM) of India International Exchange (India INX) at GIFT IFSC, the exchange said.
The company has already listed $1.5 billion bonds under its $4 billion global medium-term note programme and $500 million green bond issuance on India INX. ....
