A man will appear in court today charged after allegedly deliberately driving at and hitting two pedestrians in the state’s Far West last month.
About 8.45pm on Tuesday 30 March 2021, emergency services responded to reports two men had been hit by a car while walking along the footpath on Lane Street, Broken Hill.
The men, aged 19 and 49, were treated at the scene before being conveyed to Broken Hill Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The older man was later transferred to Royal Adelaide Hospital where he remains with serious head injuries. ....

Massive cannabis growing operation with 405 plants across nine houses worth $1million smashed


Police have smashed a cannabis ring involving nine hydroponic grow-houses containing 405 plants worth $1million. 
Ten men were charged after the plants and nearly $40,000 cash was found in the homes in Sydney s east. 
Officers from Strike Force Grassy hit nine properties in dawn raids in Randwick, Rosebery, Chifley, Kingsford, Maroubra, West Hoxton, Kensington and Matraville on Wednesday.

Across the nine houses 405 marijuana plants were discovered worth about $1million (pictured) 
Police allege they found sophisticated hydroponic cannabis set-ups where they seized 405 cannabis plants, about 3kg of marijuana, and $37,550.   ....

Unlicensed driver Jacob Steven Donn is alleged to have lost control of his girlfriend s car and careened into Sheldon and Shane Shorey, killing them both instantly.
The 25-year-old was refused bail by Police at Dubbo Police Station and remains in custody.
Joseph Shorey, the father of the boys has spoken out about his heartbreak and urged drivers to be more careful on the road.

An Australian country music singer has lashed out at fake scammers pretending to be him to rip off wellwishers donating to the families devastated by the Wellington horror crash.
Former X Factor runner-up Jason Owen issued a desperate warning to fans to be aware of the disgusting scammers just days after two brothers were killed in his hometown in Wellington near Dubbo in central NSW on Tuesday.
