Ramazan package: Rs150 subsidy on 10kg flour bag in Punjab

LAHORE:The Punjab government has announced subsidy of Rs150 per 10kg atta bag in Ramazan.
The arrangements relating to Ramazan package and special bazaars were finalised in a meeting chaired by Punjab Senior and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan here on Thursday. Under the Ramzan package, wheat costing Rs1,800 per maund will be provided to the flour mills at the rate of Rs1,300 per maund while after an additional cost of Rs200 the total subsidy will be up to Rs 700 per maund and the atta will be available in Ramazan bazaars at Rs 375 per bag of 10kg with a subsidy of Rs150 per bag. It was stated that Food Department had already stock of 150,000 metric tonne wheat and an amount of Rs3.70 billion would be spent as subsidy for Sasta atta. ....

LAHORE: The wheat support price in Punjab has been increased to Rs1,800 from Rs1,650 on Saturday.
Punjab Senior and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan has said the decision to increase the per maund support price of wheat in Punjab from Rs1,650 to Rs1,800 will be a welcome step for farmers.
He said here on Saturday that full credit for the initiative must go to Prime Minister Imran Khan, who gave the final approval for the increase in the wheat price in Punjab.
Abdul Aleem said the vision of prime minister was to give maximum compensation to the farmers for wheat so that they could prosper and get full reward for their hard work. He said in order to increase the wheat price in Punjab, detailed consultations were held with the stakeholders as per the instructions of the prime minister. Provincial Senior and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan has said that the flour price has declined to its lowest level in seven months across Punjab and a 20kg bag of flour is now available in different cities at a price lower than the government specified rate.
“Due to the integrated policies of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, the prices of wheat and flour have reduced and for the first time in the month of January the prices fell instead of increasing. The rise in rates in past was usually triggered by wheat and flour illegal stockpiling which did not happen this time,” he enunciated. ....
