COVID-19 Lockdown lifted – but stay safe
Northern Territory Police welcome the easing of restrictions in Greater Darwin and Alice Springs this afternoon but remind Territorians and visitors to stay stay safe.
Acting Assistant Commissioner Wurst said, “There are several Chief Health Officer Directions that must still be followed for the next seven days.
“As well as being COVID safe, we need to also ensure we are safe when out and about this afternoon and across the weekend, particularly if we are going to licensed premises.
“We also can now freely travel on our roads beyond the previous restriction zone. Unfortunately we lost the lives of two Territorians on our roads during lockdown. As we venture out, please drive safely, drive to the conditions and, as it is expected there will high volumes of vehicle traffic in certain areas such as our National Parks, please consider other road users. ....
