Trivendra Singh Rawat Sworn in as CM on March 18, 2017 when the BJP stormed to power after winning 57 out of 70 seats, he had just nine days left to complete four years of his tenure when he had to call it quits.

He met Governor Baby Rani Maurya at the Raj Bhavan and submitted his resignation. After submitting his resignation, Rawat said the Uttarakhand BJP Legislature Party will meet at the party's state headquarters at 10 am on Wednesday to choose his successor.
