UPDATE 1-Belarus raises price in potash supply contract with India

MOSCOW, April 5 (Reuters) - Belarus’s potash monopoly has raised prices by 13% in a potash supply contract with India signed earlier this year, the Belarus Potash Company (BPC) said on Monday, signalling a stronger outlook for potash producers.
BPC, a trading arm of Belaruskali, the world’s largest producer of the crop nutrient, signed its annual potash supply contract for 800,000 tonnes with India’s largest importer of the product, Indian Potash Limited, in January.
BPC renegotiated the contract price to $280 per tonne from the previous $247 a tonne on a cost and freight basis “within the framework of close partnership,” it said in a statement. ....

Telangana agri university to study drone spraying effect, build SOPs
Getting ready for a new-age agriculture where technology and IT solutions will play a major role, Prof Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University will begin experimenting with drone spraying of pesticides and fertilisers.
Beginning the upcoming kharif season, the university will measure the impact of such spraying on various parts of a plant and collect data.
Operating procedures
“We will pin litmus paper-like material to the leaves at different levels of the plant. We can count the intensity of the spray by measuring the number of droplets. Different crops require different doses of pesticide sprays, and at different levels of the plant,” V Praveen Rao, Vice-Chancellor, told ....
