Toy Show star Michael Moloney readies debut single


All That I Do, on Universal Music Ireland on 21 May.
The track is inspired by and dedicated to Michael s late father Emmett, whose fourth anniversary is on 23 May.
It was like a lightbulb moment: why don t I write a song about my dad? said the teenager.
This song was different from my other songs. I was writing about a real-life event that happened, and the lyrics embodied how I felt about my dad passing away.
The song was written and recorded in Dublin s Windmill Lane Recording Studios, and the Co Mayo singer-songwriter worked with Grammy-nominated producer, arranger and composer Gavin Murphy (Niall Horan, Van Morrison, Gregory Porter, Kodaline) on the track. ....

Claddagh Records, the iconic Irish record label founded by the late Garech Browne in 1959, has been relaunched along with a new webstore for enthusiasts of Irish music and poetry.
It follows the signing of a worldwide licensing agreement with Universal MusicIreland. The newly re-formed Claddagh Records Label, within Universal Music Ireland, is to embark on an ambitious remastering and digitising programme of the Claddagh Records archive.
It is expected that more than 60 recordings, newly remastered on all Digital Service Providers (DSPs), will be available for the first time later this year. These will include The Chieftains 1-10, Leo Rowsome’s King of the Pipers and Derek Bell’s Carolan’s Favourite. ....

(Dublin, Ireland) Singer-songwriter J Smith is set to release “Blood Orange” on 9 April, the next single from his upcoming debut album.
“We came to see a blood orange moon, and shiver up in a tent” sets the mood for the telling of a couple’s second chance to re-ignite their passion in love. Seizing his own second chance, J Smith rekindled his passion for songwriting after the break-up of his former band.
Smith recorded the bones of “Blood Orange in August 2019 and refined it over time, adding unexpected elements like the sound of metal pipes dragging across a concrete floor. The song has an optimistic rhythm, with persistent guitar, and a mix of acoustic and electronic elements. Sonically, there are influences from Japanese Breakfast, sir Was, Radiohead, and Jeff Buckley. ....

The Blizzards are an Irish band from Mullingar in County Westmeath. They were formed by Niall Breslin and Killian Egan (vocals) in late 2004, and also feature Dec Murphy (drums), Justin Ryan, Anthony Doran, Louize Carroll (bass) and Aidan Lynch (keyboards). They have achieved multiple platinum record sales and have won numerous awards.
Their debut single, the self-released First Girl to Leave Town , entered the Irish Singles Chart at number 11 in 2005. The band were then signed to Universal Music Ireland, and soon had two top ten singles in Ireland with Trouble and Fantasy . Their debut album,
A Public Display of Affection, was released in October 2006. The album achieved platinum status in Ireland, with sales of 15,000. ....
