On April 7 Armenia’s Prime Minister submitted to the president of the republic Armen Sarkissian a motion to appoint Arshak Karapetyan as first deputy chief of General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces.
The president did not sign the motion in the set period of time neither did he return it with objections.
“Based on Part 3 of Article 139 of the Constitution with the force of law Arshak Karapetyan is considered appointed in the post of the first deputy chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces from April 13, 2021,” government’s administration said in a statement. ....

Lawyer of ex-chief of General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces says he does not know yet whether the information about the pressures on judge who is to examine their lawsuit is true or not.
“I am hopeful that even in case of any pressure the judge will resist them and will make a substantiated, reasoned judicial act,” Onik Gasparyan’s lawyer Artur Hovhannisyan told Aysor.am
“We must defend the rights of our client with means not banned by law as well as undertake relevant legal steps which in this case is submitting relevant lawsuit to the Administrative court, which we actually did,” he said, adding that their lawsuit is more than substantiated. ....
