Director-General, Edo State Health Insurance Commission, Dr. Rock Amegor, who spoke with journalists in Benin City, said the scheme has provision for employers of labour in the private sector to offer effective, efficient, and quality healthcare services to their employees.

He explained that major areas of interventions for the scheme include primary care through which beneficiaries could access preventive health services, outpatient services, internal medicine, pediatric care, as well as maternal and neonatal services, among others.

“As the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration continues to attract investors to set up their businesses in the state, it only makes more sense than private-sector employers also take advantage of the health insurance scheme for the benefit of their employees, who can access quality and affordable healthcare. ....

The Edo State Government has urged the Organised Private Sector in the state to take advantage of the Edo Health Insurance Scheme (EDOHIS) to provide quality and affordable healthcare services for their employees.
Director General, Edo State Health Insurance Commission, Dr. Rock Amegor, who spoke to journalists in Benin City, said the scheme has provision for employers of labour in the organized private sector to offer effective, efficient, sustainable and quality healthcare services to their employees.

Civil rights group tasks residents to take advantage of Edo Health Insurance plan

The Concerned Edo Citizens, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has urged residents in Edo State to take advantage of the all-inclusive Edo Health Insurance Scheme (Edo-HIS) to access quality and affordable healthcare services.
The convener of the group, Comrade Ogbewi Aghedo, who spoke to journalists in Benin City, said it is important for residents to enroll for the health insurance scheme to benefit from the several packages of the scheme.
Aghedo noted that the state government has demonstrated commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery, reducing mortality and tackling the burden of out-of-pocket health expenditure for residents.
“Civil rights groups, religious and traditional leaders should work together in mobilizing vulnerable persons in their communities to enroll for the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF), which is an initiative of the federal government, implemented by the state government under the equity plan of the Edo State Health Insurance ....
