Head of the Antigua and Barbuda Search and Rescue (ABSAR), Johnathan Cornelius is welcoming the financial assistance from the Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown.
Last week, Team Antigua Pairs Joseph Nunes and Travis Weste donated the proceeds that they raised through their participation in the 2020 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge to the Rotary Club of Antigua (RCA) Sundown. This was done through the sale of T-shirts and Rash Guards, along with donations from kind sponsors.
Random acts of kindness, even the smallest of them are said to have a bigger effect on the lives of people and that is exactly what happened when the two rowers donated the money they raised from their campaign to the club. ....

Fun-loving residents turned out for a fundraiser with a difference yesterday to raise cash to help more local youngsters with disabilities enjoy the thrill of sailing.
More than 50 teams participated in a treasure hunt by car, organised by Sailability Antigua which has taken hundreds of differently abled people out on the water over the last six years.
The charity’s annual Super Sunday bash, which includes a walk with marching band and a party – and traditionally raises more than half of Sailability’s yearly costs – was placed on ice due to the pandemic. ....

A “super race” and a “great welcome”. Those were the words from the owner of the Palanad 3 boat which finished the 2735-mile RORC Transatlantic Race on Tuesday with a phenomenal elapsed time of 10 days, one hour, 43 minutes and 18 seconds.
Up to last night, Olivier Magre’s Class40 vessel had scored the best corrected time under IRC to claim the trophy after showing blistering pace in the event.
