COVID-19 cases at Iloilo police station rise to 9

ILOILO CITY The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has confirmed that the number of
coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases at the police station in northern Iloilo town of Lemery has risen to nine.
“There are eight new cases of COVID-19,” confirmed IPPO Director Colonel Gilbert Gorero.
Gorero told Manila Bulletin Sunday, January 31, the new cases consisted of seven policemen and a non-uniform personnel (NUP).
To recall, Lemery town police chief Captain Edwin Belarmino tested positive for COVID-19 early last week. But Belarmino was not physically in Lemery town since he was in his hometown in Negros Occidental province for vacation and was tested there. ....

Iloilo town's police operations to continue despite its chief being infected with COVID-19 – Manila Bulletin

ILOILO CITY – There will be no lockdown at the Lemery municipal police station even after its head tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), according to Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) Director Col. Gilbert Gorero.
Gorero said the Lemery police station will remain open even after its police chief Capt. Edwin Belarmino informed him that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.
“Captain Belarmino is not in Lemery. He has been on leave. There has been no positive cases in Lemery since December,” Gorero told Manila Bulletin Wednesday, January 27.
Belarmino was in his hometown in Negros Occidental when he informed Gorero of his condition. ....
