Riversdale shearing company in liquidation owes $553k

The company was incorporated in October 2012, and provided shearing and firewood services.
In the report, Roger says the company failed because of poor decisions, which includes undercharging for its services.
He stated there had been a breakdown in the relationship with the company’s former accountant and as a result, he had not been aware of the amount owing to creditors, the report says.
“Once he was aware of the amount owed to creditors he was of the view that the company had no ability to recover from the position it was in,” the report says.
The company was placed into liquidation for failing to meet Inland Revenue obligations, with overdue GST, PAYE, Child Support and KiwiSaver deductions, and associated penalties and interest. ....

Compared with 2019, 22,200 fewer work-related claims were made in 2020, reflecting the national COVID-19 lockdown, Stats NZ said today.
In 2020, a total of 217,500 work-related injury claims were made to Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) or ACC-accredited employers – a drop of 9.3 percent from 2019. This was the largest annual drop in the number of work-related claims since the beginning of the series in 2002.
