Hong Kong doubles funding for 5G subsidy scheme to HKS$100 million

The Hong Kong SAR government has increased the funding for a subsidy scheme to encourage early 5G development, with the funding increased from HK$50 million ($6.44 million) to HK$100 million, according to a post on the official website of the Hong Kong SAR government on Sunday.
According to the post, a total of 100 additional projects are set to receive grants with the funding doubled, and the application deadline has been extended to July 31, 2022. ....

Commercial Rent Waiver/ Subsidy
The Hong Kong government has waived rent for tenants at the Science Park, industrial estates and Cyberport.
Rental supports are also given under the selected sector subsidy schemes, e.g. tenants of Art Spaces and Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre.
Residential Rent Waiver to Public Rental Housing
A two-month rent waiver for public rental housing (PRH) tenants along with a 9.66% rent increase that will take effect September 1, 2020. The rent waiver involves about $3.5 billion and will take place in two phases, with one-month’s rent waived in September 2020 and September 2021. The waiver will also cover the net rent portion of well-off tenants who are required to pay additional rent, meaning they still need to pay the additional rent portion and rates. ....
