COVINGTON, Ky. — In a sign the holidays are truly over, hundreds of Christmas trees and hundreds of pounds of holiday lights collected from City of Covington residents have been recycled.
The city s initiative kept 213 Christmas trees and nearly 600 pounds of lights out of the landfill.
“We had the opportunity to chip those trees into mulch for use by our residents,” said Stephanie Bacher, solid waste and recycling supervisor for the City of Covington. ....
