Mumbai: Diesel costliest ever, petrol at 25-month high | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: Petrol price soared to a 25-month high of 90.6 a litre in Mumbai on Wednesday, while diesel shot up to an all-time high of Rs 80.78.
After a lull for nearly a month, petrol rate was hiked by 26 paise at city fuel pumps. Diesel went up by 27 paise. Both auto fuels have risen by more than Rs 14 over the last 10 months one of their steepest in recent years. The prices rose in Thane and Navi Mumbai too, with petrol retailing at Rs 90.72/litre and diesel at Rs 80.9.
Various factors, including rupee to dollar exchange rate, cost of crude oil, global cues and demand for fuel, impact their price. The price includes excise duty, VAT and dealer commission. ....

MUMBAI: After a lull, the rate of petrol was hiked by 26 paise to sell for Rs 90.60 at Mumbai pumps.
Similarly, diesel price shot up by 27 paise and it is being sold at an all-time high of Rs 80.78 on Wednesday.
Prices in other big metros:
On Wednesday, petrol and diesel prices in three other big metros Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata were as follows: Rs 83.97 and 74.12; 86.75 and 79.46; 85.44 and 77.70.
The last time fuel prices went up was on December 7.
Petrol and diesel prices had risen for the sixth day in a row on December 7 as rates had gone up up by 26-30 paise per litre and rates for petrol in Delhi had risen to Rs 83.71 per litre, from Rs 83.41 while diesel price had gone up from Rs 73.61 to Rs 73.87 per litre. ....
