Ella Turton’s graciousness with her win matched her elegance on the Fashions on the Field stage at Mackay Turf Club on Saturday.
With a pink sash over her shoulder and a bouquet of flowers cropped on her arm, young Ella said she was thrilled to win the Key Solutions Group & Mackay Hospital Foundation Family Race Day fashions competition.
But she was also thrilled for those who stood up with her.
“I’m happy, very happy with the win,” Ella said.
“I also feel good for the ones who came second and third and everyone.”
Ella, from Mackay, won the 7-12 years girls Fashions on the Field, one of three rounds at the first Saturday race meet for the year. ....
