Local artists provide community service through art
Exhibit graces gallery at Wooster hospital
WOOSTER  The mission to provide healing through art continues at the community hospital despite the pandemic.
Anthony and Janice Gallagher of Wooster are the latest artists to display their collections in the gallery space on the second floor of the Outpatient Pavilion. The rotating exhibition began in spring 2019 with the goal to showcase local artists whose art can bring healing to a place that seeks to heal the community.
The idea for the exhibit began with a community partnership between Wooster Community Hospital and the Wayne Center for the Arts. The hospital gave an Award of Excellence at the center’s first Wayne-Holmes Artists’ Exhibition in early 2019 and offered the recipient the chance to showcase their work in the hospital’s gallery area. ....
