A thief who became stuck in the snow while trying to flee in a stolen vehicle outside Calgary last month exchanged gunfire with a neighbour who tried to stop him, say Mounties.
At about 3:15 p.m. on Jan. 26, Airdrie RCMP say they were alerted by occupants of a rural property west of Airdrie in Rocky View County that someone was trying to steal their pickup truck.

“The homeowner reported that the suspect was still on the property in the stolen truck and he was stuck in the driveway,” Cpl. Gina Slaney of Airdrie RCMP said in a news release. ....
