Tristan Alexander, 22, had been snowboarding in bounds with four friends when he fell in intermediate terrain, according to the Mount Washington Alpine Resort.
“He was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend who touched the lives of those around him,” says a fundraising page created by close family friend Vanessa Wyllie. “Tristan was an elite athlete and exemplary student.”
The page said Alexander’s family is reeling from what has happened, and has already lived through death of his sister at the age of three from an inoperable brain tumour. “The layers of loss and grief are enormous.”
Wyllie says the family is thankful “beyond words” for the money raised. More than $40,000 had been raised as of late Tuesday afternoon, surpassing the initial goal of $30,000 in just 22 hours. ....
