13 Vancouver Coastal Health schools report new COVID-19 exposures


Three Vancouver private schools also reported new exposures. West Coast Christian School had one from January 11 to 13, St. Augustine School had one from January 11 to 15, and Little Flower Academy had one on January 12.
In North Vancouver Queen Mary Community Elementary School had an exposure on January 13 and St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Secondary School had one from January 13 to 15.
West Vancouver’s École Pauline Johnson had a new exposure on January 15, and Chartwell Elementary School had one on January 14.
Exposures mean someone who tested positive for COVID-19 was at school in the days before their diagnosis. They were likely contagious, but it’s not confirmed that school transmission occurred. ....

COVID-19 in B.C.: Case numbers remain stable but deaths still high, seven flights with exposures, and more

Once again, case numbers appear to be under control in several categories but the number of deaths remain at concerning levels.
There are two new healthcare outbreaks and seven flights with potential exposures.
Also, a class at Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School has been instructed by Vancouver Coastal Health to self-isolate at home due to an individual at the school testing positive. 
Meanwhile, in a bid to maintain business during the pandemic, the Rio Theatre announced it will operate as a sports bar, rather than as a movie theatre or performing arts venue. Cinemas are not allowed to operate under current provincial health orders, which continue until February 5, but bars are able to remain open.  ....
