AUSTRIA, TEAM EUROPE, PROVIDES MEDICAL FACEMASKS AND BLANKETS TO FIJI

The Government of Austria, as part of Team Europe, in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union for the Pacific, has provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) valued over FJD 156,270.00 to assist the Government of Fiji’s rigorous efforts to contain the second wave of COVID-19.
 
The consignment consists of 250,000 medical facemasks and 250 woven blankets.  This assistance is coordinated collaboratively by the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) Emergency Response Coordination Centre with the Delegation of the European Union for the Pacific and the Fijian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ....

The 2021-2022 Fijian national budget must prioritise health, says European Union Ambassador to Fiji and the Pacific Sujiro Seam.
He said money must be spent to safeguard the Fijian people from COVID-19 because of the impact the pandemic has had on jobs and the 40 per cent dent it placed on government revenue.
He made the comment while launching the Citizens Budget Guide in Suva yesterday.
