ASMAR and Vard Marine team up to construct new Chilean transport vessels.
An amphibious and military transport vessel will be designed by Canada-based Vard Marine for the Chilean Navy, under the Escotillón IV programme to modernise fleet transport operations.
The new vessels will be based on existing Vard Series 7 designs and will be adapted to the specific requirements of the Chilean .

COLOGNE, Germany Spanish shipbuilder Navantia has sealed its participation in the upcoming development of the European Control Corvette, a signature naval program that is part of the European Union’s defense efforts.
Company executives signed a memorandum of understanding to that effect with the Naviris consortium, the companies announced Feb. 11. Naviris is a 50-50 joint venture between France’s Naval Group and Italy’s Fincantieri. ....

Naviris (the 50/50 joint venture company between Fincantieri and Naval Group in charge of development of cooperation programs) and Navantia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enlarging the industrial cooperation for the European Patrol Corvette (EPC) program, the most important naval initiative within the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) project.

France, Italy drop Chantiers de l'Atlantique / Fincantieri Merger Plan

The two countries however reaffirmed “
the strength of their ties in terms of economic cooperation, particularly in the industrial sector” in a joint press release.
The agreement to sell Chantiers de l’Atlantique shares, signed by the French State, Fincantieri and Naval Group on February 2, 2018, will end on January 31, 2021, after having been extended five times.
The parties have decided not to extend this agreement again. Indeed, the tourism sector is currently facing an unprecedented level of economic uncertainty, due to the Covid-19 crisis, which does not allow the operation to continue.
This operation, which was supported by France and Italy, was initiated more than three years ago, but its conclusion was subject to the approval of the European Commission. ....
