The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality Aug. 18, a Kyle woman in his 80s. There have been a total of 293 fatalities in the county.

The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality June 25, a Buda man in his 60s. There have been a total of 260 fatalities in the county. The county also reported 37 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 30 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 19,059, total active cases to 134 and recoveries to 18,648. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 205.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 20, 55 and 22 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 178,488. The total number of hospitalizations is 914 and total current hospitalizations is two after one person was hospitalized and two were discharged.
