Chennai, May 25 (IANS) The Indian Oil Corporation has sourced 140 tonnes of oxygen from Singapore which will reach the state on Tuesday. The containers carrying oxygen are being moved from Vishakapattanam port and are likely to reach Chennai and Salem by Tuesday, according to a statement from the Indian Oil Corporation.

Move follows Centre’s plan to step up entitlement
The Tamil Nadu government has decided to give an enhanced entitlement of foodgrains to all rice-drawing ration cardholders in June and July.
The decision follows the Centre’s initiative to double the entitlement of foodgrains to the priority household (PHH) cards for two months.
No discrimination
There are about 2.07 crore rice-drawing cards in the State, of which around 1.08 crore come under the category of PHH cards. The Centre’s scheme of concession leaves out the remaining 99 lakh non-priority household (NPHH) cards. This forces the State government to ensure that there is no discrimination against the NPHH cardholders, while seeking to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 lockdown. ....

Perak govt allocates over RM2mil for B40 group affected by EMCO

IPOH: The state government will allocate RM2.38mil to help the B40 group affected by the enhanced movement control order.
In a statement issued by the Perak Mentri Besar‘s office, it said RM1.2mil would be channelled to the four districts in the state under the enhanced MCO through the Land and District Office (PDT).
The four districts that come under the enhanced MCO are Hulu Perak district (Mukim Pengkalan Hulu), Larut, Matang and Selama districts (Mukim Taiping), Kinta district (Mukim Hulu Kinta covering Ipoh, Lahat, Chemor and Tanjung Rambutan) and Muallim district (Mukim Hulu Bernam Timur).
For the first two districts - Kinta, as well as the Larut, Matang and Selama offices - would receive RM400,000 respectively. ....
