Shuping was escorted by three dozen motorcycle officers to his final resting place.
“He is our fallen hero,” said Jill Barrier, a Concord resident.
People stopped to pay respects on the streets as 300 other friends, family and community members attended the funeral of Officer Jason Shuping at the Cabarrus Arena.
“It just makes my heart glad that people respect them and love them and just want to be here to show their respect,” said Barrier.
“His dedication to our city will be forever cherished and remembered,” said Concord Mayor William Dusch.
The 25 year old was shot and killed on December 16th while responding to a carjacking call near Concord Mills. The suspect, 29 year old Jeremy Daniels also died of gunshots.
