FG to establish Maritime Resource Centre in Plateau

Plans are underway by the Federal Government to establish Maritime Resource Centre in Plateau State to boost socio-economic activities and to put Nigeria on the world map of tourism.
The Minister of Transportation Hon Rotimi Amechi who disclosed this at the Commissioning of the Nigerian Shippers Council Central Coordinating office in Jos Plateau State said the Maritime Resource Centre that the Council is promoting is a project with tremendous economic potentials for the state in terms of employment, tourism, intellectual development, etc.
According to him, the Resource Centre will have a huge socio-economic impact on the state and urged the Plateau State government to partner with the Council in actualizing the project. ....

Fashola: Why FG Can't Improve Access to Affordable Housing for Nigerians

The federal government has expressed handicap in the area of improving access to affordable housing for Nigerians, especially in the face of Covid-19 pandemic, explaining that majority of houses available for sale or rent belong to individuals and private companies.
The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, noted this Friday at the 9th edition of the National Council meeting on Lands, Housing and Urban Development with the theme “Housing Delivery in Covid-19 Era and Beyond: The Strategies for Affordability and Accessibility.”

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adebayo has expressed concern over the decrease in the volume of trade between Nigeria and South Korea.
Speaking during the visit of the South Korean ambassador to Nigeria, Kim Young-Chae to his office on Tuesday, the Minister noted that the volume of trade between the two countries went down from $5 million in 2018 to $1.3million in 2019.
Adebayo stated that Nigeria and South Korea shared strong economic and investment ties with over 20 Korean companies presently operating in the country. ....
