TENKASI: Amidst his hectic campaigning schedule in south Tamil Nadu on a sunny Sunday afternoon, Rahul Gandhi took an unscheduled break to quench his thirst at a roadside tender coconut shop at Nallurvilakku near Alangulam on the Tirunelveli - Tenkasi road.
The Congress leader was amused by the vendor s style of opening the tender coconut in one cut. He asked the vendor, Shanmugam, 45, to cut one more tender coconut and watched him do it.
While sipping tender coconut water, Rahul asked Shanmugam about his business, how long he had been into it, his family and earnings daily and annually. ....
