Description of the disaster
On January 21, two explosions occurred in Tayaran Square in central Baghdad s Bab al-Shaqi neighborhood. At least 33 people have been killed and 100 have been injured in these attacks. According to an Iraqi interior ministry official, the first suicide bomber raced into the market and pretended to be unwell so that people would congregate around him. Then he detonated his explosives. A second attacker exploded his device as bystanders gathered around the victims, according to the ministry s statement. The dead and injured have been confirmed by Baghdad s Directorate of Terror Victims and Directorate of Health. Iraqi government emergency officials came on the scene to assist the victims. ....

Since April, Yemen experienced heavy rains which caused flash floods in different governorates of the country requiring immediate assistance. On 21 April, a tropical storm hit the southern coast of Yemen with highest impact in Lahj, Aden,
Taiz, Ad Dali’, Abyan and Hadramawt, affecting at least 150,000 people across 13 governorates, including 64,000 internally displaced people. The floods destroyed roads, bridges, and blocked access to affected areas, which resulted in temporary disruption to humanitarian activates.
The situation was further compounded by the first case of COVID-19 reported on 10 April 2020 in the country, in addition, second peak of the COVID-19 cases in the country was witnessed on the first quarter of 2021. The flood-affected areas had witnessed increased conflict and displacement in the last few months. The floods lasted up until the end of August 20 ....

Since the onset of the outbreak in Yemen and during the operation timeframe, dengue suspected cases continued to increase during 2020 comparing with 2019. The suspected cases by the end of 2020 reached seven times the cases in 2019, and six times the reported numbers in 2018, according to the Yemen Health Cluster (table on the right).
With the interventions implemented by actors including YRCS, focused on key vulnerable locations with the highest number of cases reported, the national overview indicates a decrease in 2021 in the first three weeks compared to 2020. ....

A severe weather warning from May to June 2020 was issued by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika, BMKG) covering several parts of Indonesia, including Aceh, Riau, Riau Islands, Bengkulu, South Sumatra, West Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, and several parts of Kalimantan. In line with this forecast, heavy and intense rain from 21 to 22 May 2020 causing floods and submerged 11 villages from eight subdistricts in Samarinda city, East Kalimantan province. Responding to this event, the mayor of Samarinda City declared a 14-day emergency response period from 22 May to 4 June 2020. ....
