St. Joe's/Candler COVID-19 vaccine partnership with churches begins

St. Joseph’s/Candler and Savannah area churches are teaming up to vaccinate folks in some of the underserved neighborhoods against COVID-19.“It is definitely a sense of relief, said Tonja Bradshaw, member of St. Philip Monumental AME Church. And I am thankful for the opportunity to be able to receive the injection.”And that definitely seems to be the prevailing thought as those 65 and over and caregivers received their first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.It’s part of a new partnership between St. Joseph’s/Candler and Savannah area churches to get more people vaccinated. “We can no longer afford just to sit behind the four walls, said the Rev. Bernard Clarke, pastor, St. Philip Monumental AME Church. The pandemic has brought us out from the four walls and in being out we must have a purpose and I can’t think of a better purpose we can have than to have this one that we’re doing today.”And for those receiving their shot, getting them at their churc ....
