Walking 50k in a day for youth
Orewa massage therapist Roger White, 62, likes long walks and is about to take on his second 50km in a Day fundraising walk.
On Saturday, March 27 he plans to spend 11-12 hours, from 6.15am, walking five times around a 10km course in Wenderholm Regional Park.
He is seeking sponsorship for the walk, with funds to be donated to Coast Youth Community Trust in Whangaparaoa (CYC).
Last year Roger walked from dawn to dusk around Orewa Estuary on the Te Ara Tahuna walkway to raise money for Adults in Motion.
“As well as benefitting personally by keeping fit, it made sense to bring benefit to others in our community who face great struggles in life,” Roger says. ....
