Hydrographic survey ship INS Sandhayak, the first of its class indigenously designed and built, was decommissioned after 40 years of service, at the Naval Dockyard Visakhapatnam on Friday in a low-key event attended only by in-station officers and sailors in line with COVID-19 protocols.
At sunset, the Naval Ensign and the Commissioning Pennant were brought down for the last time onboard INS Sandhayak in the presence of Vice Adm A.B. Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C), Eastern Naval Command (ENC), symbolising the decommissioning, a Navy statement said. ....

Based on a request from the State administration, specialist teams from Naval Dockyard Visakhapatnam (NDV) jointly completed repairs and audit of Oxygen Distribution Systems and Generation Plants.
Working in close coordination with the State government Authorities for the past one month, six naval teams covered several far-flung places in the State visiting government hospitals at 12 cities, including Nellore, Tirupati, Guntur, Ongole, Rajamahendravaram, Anantapur, Vijaywada, Kakinada and Kadappa. This included visits to 15 major hospitals and four industries with Oxygen Generation Plants. ....

New Delhi [India], May 26 (ANI): The Indian Navy on Tuesday provided an Oxygen on Wheels plant to Palasa COVID Care Centre in Andhra Pradesh.
Based on a request from the Srikakulam District Collector J Niwas, the Indian Navy provided on Oxygen on Wheels plant to Palasa COVID Care Centre, informed the Ministry of Defence.
The Oxygen on Wheels , designed by Naval Dockyard, was formally inaugurated at the Palasa, Covid Care Centre by Andhra Pradesh Minister for Animal Husbandry Seediri Appalaraju, in the presence of Sub Collector Suraj Ganore and the Naval Team. ....

New Delhi [India], May 20 (ANI): Amid the devastating COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian Navy on Thursday launched Oxygen on Wheels - mobile oxygen generation plants mounted on trailers that can easily be transported to remote hospitals.
Designed and developed by the Naval Dockyard Visakhapatnam under the Eastern Naval Command (ENC), each of the two plants have the capacity to generate 100 litres per minute and are designed to provide a direct feed to any hospital s pipeline system.
The plants were inaugurated by Vice Adm AB Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief ENC. ....

Visakhapatnam, May 16 : Experts from Naval Dockyard Visakhapatnam have achieved a major breakthrough in repairing two major oxygen plants at Nellore and Srikalahasthi in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
