Excelsior report on missing of labs leads to ruckus in LMD, tampering of record

JAMMU, May 27: The Excelsior report on missing of two Centrally funded Working Standard Laboratories in Legal Metrology Department of Jammu and Kashmir triggered a high-voltage drama in the LMD and alleged tampering of official record by the officers suspected to be involved in the fraud.
This has been officially stated in a formal complaint forwarded today to Commissioner Secretary FCS&CA Department, according to which Joint Controller, Legal Metrology Kashmir forcibly took away essential records pertaining to construction of Working Standard Labs soon after the Excelsior news on missing WSLs reached the Srinagar office in the morning of May 25. ....

JAMMU, Apr 4: Close on the heels of CAG report establishing failure of the Legal Metrology Department to utilize mobile cranes fitted with weigh-bridge testing kits provided by Government of India, more skeletons are tumbling out of the LMD cupboard.
In yet another instance of intentionally damaging and idling of the Government infrastructure, a Mobile Testing Van remained dumped for the last 13 years under a conspiracy to benefit erring business community and now taking serious notice of the issue, the Controller Legal Metrology, Jammu and Kashmir has recommended CBI or Crime Branch investigation into the matter. ....
