Railways now pro-people sector: Sujan

THAKURGAON, Feb 22, 2021 (BSS) – Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan today said Bangladesh Railways have now become pro-people and service oriented sector.
“The present government has made a separate ministry for the railways, accelerating its development. Railways have made a comeback,” he said.
The minister said these while addressing as chief guest at a function while inaugurating the newly constructed high and extended platform of Thakurgaon Road rail station here this afternoon.
He said the BNP-Jamaat government had pushed the railways towards destruction and had sacked 12 thousand officials and staff of railways. The present government led by Awami League is developing and modernizing the railways sector, Sujan said. ....
