BUNKER HILL Bunker Hill Community Unit School District No. 8 has brought telehealth services to each of its schools.
Partnering with Hazel Health, this remote rural district located in a federal-designated medically deprived area, has taken advantage of advances in technology in order to improve learning conditions for students, as well as healthcare access for all families.
The service officially began last week, after an enrollment drive secured approximately 30% of the district’s families to “opt in” to the optional service. While not designed to take the place of a primary care physician, this virtual “doctor on-demand” service occurs in the school during the school day. ....
