Qatar Census 2020 vital for MoTC’s development plans

Doha: The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) has said that Qatar Census 2020 project, implemented by the Planning and Statistics Authority, is one of the prominent national projects.
The Ministry said that Qatar Census 2020 aimed at enhancing development plans and programmes, including the Ministry’s programmes and plans, through mechanisms that determine and evaluate the availability of basic services for households, population, housing and establishments of various classifications, as well as identifying and prioritizing the areas in need of these services to look after them.
On the occasion of the implementation of the last field phase of Qatar Census 2020, Nour Ibrahim Shahdad, Director of Public Relations and Communications Department at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, explained that the Ministry’s plans and projects for the development of the transport
Qatar has maintained a strong focus on continually developing the healthcare sector.
The country’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has worked tirelessly to expand healthcare services to meet the needs of the citizens and residents.
With the ambition of further enhancing healthcare services, the Ministry has highlighted the importance of Qatar Census 2020 in the development of the country’s healthcare sector.
The results of the Census are expected to have a ‘significant impact’ on MoPH’s development process, a statement by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) underlines.
The Census results will help the Ministry to devise realistic strategies that meet the health needs of the population. This will encompass primary healthcare centers and public hospitals, as the Ministry will be able to provide them with the technical equipment and appropriate staff to deliver services more efficiently.
The data e-registration period for Qatar Census 2020 has been extended until mid of this month, Qatar’s Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) has announced.
The decision comes in view of the “continuous interest and turnout of households and individuals to complete the census data electronically,” PSA said in a statement.
PSA has urged everyone who has yet to provide the required data for the Qatar Census 2020 to make use of the extension.
To make it easier for people in Qatar to fill in their data, the authority had recently unveiled a
Known as ‘Qatar Statistics,’ the app is available for download for both Android and iOS users and is free of charge. Users of the app can find a direct link to register to fill in the data for the Census electronically.
His Excellency Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Abdulaziz Al Thani participated in Qatar Census 2020 by filling in the online form of the census.
HE the PM acknowledged the individuals in charge of the census as well as those ensuring its implementation online and conducting field visits, in light of the precautionary measures against COVID-19.
He further urged citizens and residents to provide the required data for Qatar Census 2020.

Doha: HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani participated Monday in the population census Qatar Census 2020 by filling in the online form of the census.
The Qatar Census 2020, launched by the Planning and Statistics Authority, aimed at establishing a central registry of population, housing and establishments data in the State of Qatar.
During the participation, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior thanked those in charge of the census and those implementing it in the field and online, especially in light of the precautionary measures in place in the country to combat the spread of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), calling on all residents of Qatar to fill in the data before the end of the specified period of time for the census in order to achieve its desired goals.
