The Catholic Diocese of Enugu has suspended Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka from church activities for one month as the controversial priest s political escapades continue to overshadow his theological obligations on a scale that nurtures unending concerns amongst his senior clerics. 
Mbaka was asked to proceed on suspension with effect from May 3 after being summoned by Callistus Valentine Onaga, the diocesan bishop. 
Onaga called Mbaka in following his repeated clashes with President Muhammadu Buhari and warned that his conduct was smearing the church s image, the largest of any Christian organisation worldwide, church officials familiar with the matter told The Gazette.  ....

Respite came for 27 students abducted by bandits from Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna, as they gained their freedom yesterday after 56 days in captivity. The students were released in Kindanda village, Giwa local government area of the state.
The release was reportedly facilitated by the Sheikh Abubakar Gumi dialogue committee with support from former President Olusegun Obasanjo. The students were among the 39 abducted two months ago. After payment of ransom by parents and the school management, the bandits had last month released 10 of the victims while two others escaped from captivity. ....

The Catholic Diocese of Enugu has suspended the spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka from church activities for one month for meddling in political issues, especially with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to reports, Mbaka was asked to go on a suspension effective May 3, 2021, after being summoned by his Gracious Callistus Valentine Onaga, the diocesan bishop.
It would be recalled that Mbaka had asked Buhari to resign or be impeached over his inability to tackle growing insecurity in the country, a development that sparked controversy between him and the presidency. ....

Hours after the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu State, Rev Father Ejike Mbaka, resurfaced on Wednesday after being incommunicado, the Catholic Diocese of Enugu suspended the controversial cleric for one month.
SaharaReporters learnt from sources in the Catholic Diocese that the Reverend Father was suspended not because of his political missiles towards the Muhammadu Buhari government.

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The  Bishop Calistus Onaga  of Catholic Diocese of Enugu has reacted to  Wednesday’s invasion  of the Bishop’s Court and the Holy Ghost Cathedral Church by the followers of Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka.
Enugu city was on Wednesday thrown into pandemonium  as followers of fiery Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, took to the  streets after they declared him missing.
They marched from the Adoration ground in Emene, Enugu, to the Bishop’s Court at Igboeze Street, Independence Layout Enugu where they damaged some facilities.
After wrecking havoc at the Bishop’s residence, the  protesters  also stormed the Holy Ghost Cathedral where several church facilities were vandalized. ....
