Catholic school board director Terry Lyons retiring

The announcement was made at the board meeting Tuesday.
Lyons has spent 32 years in education. He began his career as a teacher at the York Catholic School Board before returning to his native Windsor in 1999. He worked for 16 years at the public school board here, becoming a vice-principal, principal and superintendent. He then moved to the Catholic board in 2015. He began his tenure there as superintendent of human resources, became associate director and was named director in 2017.
Most recently, Lyons oversaw securing a new site for a replacement for Catholic Central Secondary School. The provincial government announced two weeks ago that it has approved building the new $29.4-million school, allowing the board to go to tender. ....

The provincial government has announced the pending construction of a new $30 million Catholic high school in Windsor.
The province said Friday it has given the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board approval to proceed to tender for a new Catholic Central Secondary School.
